Normally, I avoid endorsing people. The minute I start raving about someone, it seems they go off the deep end. This guy is probably as deep off the end (in a good way!) as you can get, so I am going to throw caution to the wind and suggest you discover Bob Goff.

A few weeks ago, my daughter asked me to take her to a conference for her big (early) Christmas present. Bob Goff was the first speaker we heard. My daughter was won over before he opened his mouth, as he is an adjunct law professor at the law school connected to where she wants to attend college. I had no idea what to expect, but figured he would at least give me an idea of how talented the professors were at her college of choice.

I wish I could show you a video of the speech, because Bob Goff blew us away.  Part of being able to dedicate your child to God is being able to show your love to your child. The other part is showing your child how much you love God and other people. Personally, I think having a good sense of humor  has saved the life of many a child (and spouse for that matter!) and should be added to the list.

Bob Goff’s book Love Does: Discover a Secretly Incredible Life in an Ordinary World is a fun way of reminding us how to be the loving Christians God called us to be. The best part is that his book also serves as a great stress relief item. We are in the major testing mode of the junior year in high school and the stress level around our house can get pretty high at times. (If you aren’t there yet, you will spend a lot of time on your knees and go through a lot of tissues.) Reading a chapter of this book every night, made me laugh, but it also helped remind me of my purpose. Unfortunately, I was forced to speed read it, so my daughter could get a crack at it!

If you are short on cash, you can go to his website and he has really cute little video clips he posts for his blog. So whether you get the book or just listen to his videos, take some time to laugh and remind yourself what this parenting journey is all about. Bob Goff hits the nail on the head, because love really does…

The link above is an affiliate link. If you purchase the book through this link, I will receive some compensation. It will add nothing to your cost. I only suggest this book though, because I personally loved it!
